This online fitness class is specifically geared toward athletes who are serious about improving their athletic performance. We will begin classes with a brief warm up and move quickly to endurance work including plyometrics, agility and cardiovascular intervals. Then we will do a strength circuit tailored appropriately for age, ability, and sport. These exercises will include full body strength with a concentration on core stability. A small class size will allow the instructor to ensure exercises are performed properly with correct form. We will also add sport specific elements into each work out and educate participants about how specific exercises will directly and indirectly improve athletic performance. Classes will conclude with guided stretching to help improve flexibility and targeted to decrease post workout muscle soreness.
The goals of these classes are not only to improve strength and overall athleticism but also to instill a love of fitness training and knowledge of exercises that participants will feel comfortable using throughout life.
Please wear something that you can move around in and have a full water bottle or sports drink handy. If you have dumbbells and any resistance band "bring them!" If not, a bag or back-pack with books or canned goods works great for adding some resistance to your workouts. Other ideas are water bottles, milk jugs, laundry detergent containers and soup cans. Get creative or feel free to just use body weight if that seems right for you.
